Nice! Stinkpots make excellent pet turtles. I feed my pair earthworms, crickets, aquatic insects, bloodworms, Reptomin, cichlid pellets, koi pellets, algae waffers, freeze-dried shrimp, shrimp pellets, market shrimp, fish fillets and small amounts of canned tuna. I also keep a bunch of Anacharis in the tank with them. If they feel hungry they can and will nibble on it. They also like to use it as something to rest on because it floats at the surface.

ok thanks yea they seem to be really cool and they have the coolest tail all the little spikes on it what size tank should they be in there a bout 4 inch front of shell to back of shell. and what is anacharis any pic that would help alot.

I keep my pair in a 40 gallon rubbermaid tub but I'm going to get a larger tub soon for the pair.

Here's a pic of my pair, the plants floating around the surface are Anacharis, it's a very common plant in most pet/fish stores. Just make sure it's legal to have in your state.

Well I candled them for the first time this morning and they don't seem to be viable but I'm going to incubate them a little longer and see what happens. It wouldn't surprise me if they were bad anyways seeing how they were laid in the water.

What are you going to do for land laying in the future Seth?

A simple plastic box filled with sand and peat is great for that:D

Well I plan on using a 100 gallon Rubbermaid Stock Tank used for horses/cattle as their new home. Like coura said I plan on putting a small tub inside with a soil/sand/peat mixture for egg laying in it.
