I used to have a small peaceful freshwater aquarium. in that aquarium I had a red clawed crab. he liked to climb up into the filter and eat fish poopie and rotten foodstuffs off it. because of this my filters always lasted about a month longer than normal. so now I have a 55+ aquarium in which a red clawed crab would be a light snack. so i am going to purchase a red clawed crab or even a little female fiddler to live entirely in my filter. see if it helps..:nilly:

interesting. i wonder if his diet would be adequate enough tho. please update with the results. i had one of those crabs in my 75, and he/she would always find a way out. there have been many times i almost stepped on it far from the tank. anyways- one day it just completely disappeared- i'm curious if it was just hiding in the ac hob.
good luck! if you have positive results i'll def try it too.

step... one of mine found it's way to my room and I electrocuted it with a electric fly swatter, thinking it was a bug... poor poor crab...

i'm curious on how effective this can really be. is the waste produced really decreased with the crab taking in waste to only produced more waste? who's going to eat the crabs poop? lol
