I was makin my normal rounds to the LFS, since I needed some mysis shrimp something fierce. BTW...I HIGHLY recommend piscine energetics...the best mysis shrimp I have ever used! Whole piece, high in protein, just the best. Anywho, I was lookin at the tankz, and LO AND BEHOLD!! there were FOUR Uaru amphiacanthoides!!! They were about 1" and were listed as Chocolate cichlids! I COULD NOT believe my luck! We never get cichlids like this around here and when we do they are hella expensive! These were being sold at $12.00 a pop! Soo, needless to say I got all four of them! Yup! Now they are in my tank, happily tearin it up!! I got a pretty kewl lookin oscar too! Not sure if its wild or captive bred, the spots on the head are unique either way. Happy day for me!
