just wish it was a different club.

got home from work, looked into my 75 grow out tank......there was the male motoro, there was the retic, but i couldnt see the female motoro. then the unwanted happened. found her stuck to the intake on the ac110.

anybody ever have a small ray get stuck to a HOB intake? ray was about 4 inch disk. i have had her for a week.

not sure if she got stuck pre or post mortem.

i guess i forgot to add, ray was eating very well on chopped crawlers and cut up market shrimp. it was captive bred. water parameters

nitrate 20ppm
nitrite 0
ammonia 0
temp came up this week do to the ambient temp rising, but tank temp was 86, i try for 78-80.

did a water change on wendesday, and i fast my fish on thursdays. all seemed well when i looked in on them late last night, and all of the tankmates are ok.

just wish i knew what happened

man that sux! she was a beaut too! I have heard of it before sadly, they like playing in the bubbles and exporing the tank....

There is no way the ray go stuck to your filter before it died. When rays are that small they need to eat 2-3 times a day with no days off. I'm not saying that is the problem but rays even that small are way to powerful to get stuck on that filter. Maybe a ray a couple days old could get stuck. Sorry for your loss but I really think there was another problem.

sorry to hear that man! I know what that feels like to see the fish fine just a few hours before then turn around and find it dead ( or in other rare cases eaten by a catfish!) but seriously..I feel bad for you. Hope the other one keeps going strong. Good luck

i think it died before then got stuck to the intake....

It was probably dead or dying when it got sucked up. Wow didn't know an AC110 was that strong.
