I wasn't planning on breeding these guys, but they are both in breeding colors, breeding tubes are out, and we have eggs!:headbang2

I'd like to move them to a species tank for their next spawn. What's the smallest tank they'd be comfortable in as the only inhabitants?

Dad's around 4", Mom's around 3".

Here's a couple pictures. In the 1st pic, it's Dad. In the 2nd pic, it's Mom. The tank is a 90g with huge terracotta pots. This tank was originally aquascaped for an oscar. I've attached full tank pics for size reference.

The last 4 pics were taken tonight of the proud parents guarding the wigglers.

there is an LFS near me that has a 20G tank with 2 h. carpintis ... about 3" long, max ... and they got dozens of fry in there with 'em ...

these guys are almost as prolific as convicts :)

Love it! At that size a 30 gallon is more than enough if it's just the pair raising fry in there.

How about when they're full grown? My research says they only get 6", but with their aggressive temperaments, would a 55g be large enough or should I have them in a 75g?

Thanks, everyone! These fish are really fun. Watching the color changes during spawning is pretty sweet. I've never seen anything like it.
