No Matter how Hard I try this time of year I get invaded by field Mice. Well, the De-Con is down and the Traps are out. But some how one of those little buggers got inside my PC case, And wedged himself between two of my three video cards. Turned the PC on and POP, SIZZLE, Breaker Blown.

I thought the Power Supply blew up. But it was fine. Started tearing the system apart thinking something on the Motherboard popped, But it was fine. It took me about 15 minutes to find the little bugger because of where he was wedged at. from the way he was stuck in their he had went to the bathroom on the Video Card and that shorted it out. I Got him out and examined everything else and put the rig back together with just 2 of my 8800 GTXs and she fired right up.

Called EVGA Tech Support, told them what happened. The tech Laughed his @$$ off, but in the end said NP Sir, It's covered under Warranty. Would you like a Standard RMA, or an Advanced RMA?

:headbang2

Moral of the story: I HATE FIELD MICE!

I dont know what any of the " 8800 GTXs / Standard RMA, or an Advanced RMA" stuff means but field mice sure can mess stuff up. Not to mention Hanta Virus.

Ain't that the damn truth. I'm less then 100 yards from 2 schools, and 250 yards from a swamp. NOTHING Stops them from getting in. But they don't get out. I think I go through 10-15 boxes of Decon before the summer is over every year.

Have you considered getting a cat?

Try Peppermint oil soaked cotton balls. Field mice have very sensitive noses, peppermint oil will make them change direction... When I lived out in the sticks we had a problem with field mice, peppermint oil fixed the problem.

i remember that episode with steve irwin where this place was invaded by thousands and thousands of mice, it looked like there was a million of them. he reached down and was able to grab a small melon sized furball which was just a bunch of mice

it was nasty, but very cool to see

EVGA will probably upgrade your 8800GTX as they are no longer produced. I've heard people getting GTX275 up to GTX280s depending on what they have in stock for RMAs.
