well this week was the start of registration for spring semester. spring is suppose to be my last semester here at college. i have 4 classes to take, methods in aquatic ecology, plant morphology, microbiology and 1 free class(anything i want).

well registration started on monday for people who work on campus. my registration time was tueday at 5pm. at 12pm on tuesday both the plant morph classes were filled up :irked: i know of atleast 2 people who are holding spots for people who register later :irked: they have 4 classes in this biology grouping that you have to take, plant morph, human physiology, comparitive vertebrae anatomy and.plant systematics.

the teacher that teacher comp. vert and human phys is hard as crap and a total a-hole. so no one wants to take his class, especially their last semester. im signed up for his human phys class but it interferes with my aquatic methods class, which i need since im on the aquatic track to graduate.

now i dont think ill be able to graduate until they offer plant systematics in the fall. its so frustrating trying to get this one class that everyone and their brother wants and needs.

every biology student goes through this every semester because they are so limited on their biology teachers. it really sucks!! i want to get out of my crappy job, get a good one and possibly go to grad school!

I get where you are coming from I ve had that problem a before. I almost had it again this semester (my last semester) cuse I needed chem 2 and there was only 1 class offered, but luckily I got in. It really sucks. You have all theses students in different majors that need some of the same required classes and then they dont have enough prof. or classes to offer. I am picky to b/c I wont go to a prof. if I know they are bad- I usually just wait it out. It gets annoying.

yeah, im not changing my micro teacher b/c he's the best. i guess i just have to wait to see if some people get dropped from the class and try and grab it

that's balls man, what are you planning to go into?

im looking at schools with oceanography masters programs, mostly florida institute of technology or working at the georgia aquarium.

my school has a 14month biology teaching masters program. georgia has a program that will help pay for that too. teaching would be my fall back.
