An island somewhere......
A little rant please! So I made a large purchase using my PayPal account, being relatively inexperienced with PayPal I was unaware that there was a pull down tab to choose form of payment (Checking or Credit Card). I went thru with the Checking account since Paypal said if there isn't enough funds to cover the transaction, it would then default to charging your Credit Card.

I figured I'm earn the "Frequent Flyer Miles" on my credit card and came up with a brilliant idea of transferring all but $10.00 in the checking account so it'll seamlessly recognize the lack of funds and charge my credit card.

NOT THE CASE! They not only attempt to withdraw the money once, not twice.... but would attempted it a third time before charging your credit card! I was hit with an overdraft fee by my bank and luckily caught it before they raped me of more money!

Very frustrating that a large financial institution such as PayPal would not take the overdraft fees into account on behalf of their clients and would be so wreakless as to accrue overdraft fees needlessly. An slight oversight or glitch for a multimillion dollar financial institution filled with Ivy League graduates lacking common sense!

Off my soapbox.... thank you.

Yeah Im not so keen on using paypal. You know me, Im a cash in hand kind of guy....

PayPal seems to thrive on using and abusing ones funds, and the sad thing is that they don't care and there is not a thing you can do about it, except not to use them!

I've used paypal hundreds of times without issue, i suppose its a matter of checking everything over carefully. You are well protected with paypal, they are good with making refunds if you don't receive something.

so you chose to use your checking account after emptying it, instead of choosing to use your credit card? why?

sounds like operator error. you cant b1tch about getting tagged with an overdraft fee when you set yourself up for it.

thats weird. I have my paypal set up with my credit card NOT CHECKING ACC. It only took me 1 time to verify my credit card valid and that is all.

Dang! You just think everyone has to serve your need, don't you? :grinno: Well, you only struck out on 3rd strike, so they have to try 3 times with what you asking them, before going with the alternative. Ivy League graduates use their common sense. They don't expect a person to ask them charging his account AFTER he emptied it! :screwy: They're not fortune teller! :grinno:

If you know him a little, that's how he operates!
