I HATE PETCO

i agree not to slam all chain stores. just because you had a bad experience with one jerk that was working, or one person that was not knowledgeable, does not paint a picture about the entire corporation. if i were you, i would go back to the store and talk to the general manager, but dont let it effect your view of all big stores like that, because each one is different.
 
I definantly agree with laxplaya. What if you had a bad experience with a LFS..., are you gonna stop shopping there. Well now your screwed because ya wont go to your LFS for fish and fish supplies and you hate Chain Stores. So what are ya gonna do?

I don't work at a store. So dont start pointing the finger at me.
 
I just had a bad experience at a petland discount... The lady(owner) was really rude when I was looking at the fish, and when I asked for two pink convicts, one having orange on its belly, she got me two females >.>
Then she switched one and got me another female and bagged it...
at least the employees were okay :S
 
get your fish off of live food then you will not have to worry if the feeder fish are a live or have an illness..

get your fish off live feeders and you wont have to worry
 
Wow im lucky that petco doesnt have a store in Iceland.
 
Don't waste your time and 50 cents buying feeders. What were you going to feed them to? Breed some convicts if you want to feed live fish that bad.
 
I just had a similar experience with a Rubbernose Pleco I bought at Petsmart here in West Houston. Fish was added to an established tank two weeks ago. Ich just showed up today. I even called the store to let them know so they could quarantine or whatever their procedure is for dealing with Ick & the chick told me "all fish have Ick...they just release it when they get stressed out."!!!!!!! Uh huhh. So maybe a quarantine would be a wise move, since they have so many shared tools/tanks?!? Ijjits. They dont give a *^$@!!!! 3 years, 2 tanks & this is my first Ick. Bastards.
 
Ok, I'm going to start with, yes, I do work for Petco. I am the aquatics Specialist. Yes, sometimes our feeders do get sick. When they do, we treat them. While they are being treated, we do NOT sell them. Just because this poor example of a Petco did you wrong, don't blame all Petcos. Your Petco obviously has a crappy staff. Not all of them do. To say all Petcos are bad is crap. If yours sucks, by all means, do NOT shop there, but don't take it to mean that all of them are bad. You had every right to bring back all of those fish, and you should have. You have a 15 day "warranty" on all freshwater fish. They absolutely should have been more respectful when you called. Any and all customer complaints that are made to corporate through e-mail are forwarded to the stores, so your complaint will be seen. I personally feed my Bichirs feeders from our store as treats every couple of weeks, because I know that our feeders are healthy and if they are not, then they are not sold to anyone. I know that I am babbling, but moral is, treat each store individually. They are all different, and it offends the hell out of me when people group MY Petco in with crappy ones that provide bad service and worse fish.
 
AGREED. Every pet store (even big chains) is, and should be treated as, ONE STORE. Cant lump even one store together! I know my usual helpful Petsmart Aquatic chick would NOT have brushed it off like that. Just like any other group of people...Couple of winners, whole lot of losers. What can u do?
