wow aren't you a rude.-->("I think you should go to your local store and get your 50 or 60 dollars fish and good luck with that"). yep that is rude, dude chill out. I'm just trying to figure out why your discus are $200.00 a piece, when I can go to a breeder, (YES A BREEDER) where I've seen the fish go from small to large, and where I can get 4-5 inch discus for 60.00 dollars some 100.00 depending on color. now here is where I might sound rude. why are they $200.00 each did you mail order them, pay for over night shipping, and are trying to get all your money out of them. why are your discus 200.00 a piece?

but you said your discus are 5 inches and you want 200 for them. I can go to a breeder here locally and get them for 50-60 dollars. are yours breeding, wild caught, did you get them from a discus place like dans, rocky mountin discus, etc etc. i'm not trying to be rude,I just don't see how you are asking 200 for discus that are 5 inches when I can get them for 50-60 dollars.

Hey............I got some up for sale..........tell me how much you willing to pay?

lol danm thats rude.

Gotta give reasons for why the price is so high, or you wont get a sell from reasonable fish keepers.

If he wont give you pictures i wouldnt waste the time talking to him

not rude IMO... why question the man when you can go to a breeder and get the same for 50$... you were rude in this IMO... if you didnt like the price and can get them for cheaper than do that... let him sell to somebody who wants to pay that kind of money

This back and forth internet haggling is funny lol the guy should have sent photos and gave u an explanation for the price
an explanation and a photo would have done justice

I think the guy is being rude. he should have just explained why and he could have had a sale. if he had just said they were some rare and exotic morph then it could have been sorted in one email but instead he avoids the question like any good politician.

if he wont give you a straight answer then he is likely hiding something like trying to sell $50 discus for $200. any good business or seller will answer a question fully when its asked about there products. my advice is to walk away from the sale even if he eventually explains it.

yep it was rude,I kept on asking for photos and why they where that price.
he wouldn't answer me. he thinks, when I told him I could get 4-5 inch discus for 50-60 dollars. he thought I was talking about going in to a LFS, and getting them for that price. nope I go to a breeder here in Plano tx. where I live and can get them for that price. 2 inch 25-40 dollars. 4 inch 50-80 5+ 80-130 LMBO I could more or likely get a breeding pair for $200.00 and these are hi quality discus. what's is when some one tries to get all there money back from selling a fish, or an aquarium. I was on craigslist.org some one was trying to get $250.00 for a 20 gallon, ha-ha I got my used 135 for that much. um oh what also gets me when people lie.
along time ago I called a guy about his 55 gallon he didn't give me a price,
he said everything was included tank, wooden stand, lids, lights, canister filteretc. when I got there it was a 55 gallon set up but it was just a 55 gallon on a metal stand, with no lights, one light, a under gravel filter and nothing else.he wanted $350.00 for it,I said i'm sorry but it's quit what i'm looking for, I wasted time and fuel. but speaking of good deals I got a 30 gallon setup for $50.00 stand, tank, canopy, lights, lids, test kits, decloranatior, air pump, etc. all I need to do is buy a filter, and fix the canopy. but for $50.00 it was a steal. oh and what was crazy and fun is the lady selling it,here daughter, and I where loading it up. I emailed her around 1am and got there. we loaded it up in the truck and it was 3am LOL.

your right guys thanks, I'll go to the breeder here locally.

I would not buy fish from anyone like that. But why the huge price jumps when it comes to Discus? Well more than anything is they eat a lot for a small fish and they won't eat the cheep stuff. I get my discus for $9.00 to $18.00 at 2". When the Discus get to about 5" the same people will buy them back at $25.00 to $65.00. That looks like a good way for me to make some money? NO. So Buy a Discus at $9.00 at 2" that Discus will cost about $2.50 a week to feed and about 5 weeks to grow a inch thats about $15.00 an inch in food. So 9.00 for the 2" fish $45.00 in food to sell it at $25.00 so I'm out $29.00. Note a breeder is not going to spend $2.50 per fish to feed a week, more like $.10 a fish. But someone with just one to five fish most of the time will be. Most people see Discus and fall in love. Then they'll go out get a tank set it up, spend about $140.00 a fish becuse they want good ones. Out of the first batch or two they will loose most of the fish, then in about 4 months they get it down and have a tank of Discus. They show their friends and coworkers and they are happy for about a month or two. Then the tank becomes a lot of work and money to keep up for some fish that never looked as cool as the one they seen in that one place that one time. But they just can't get rid of the tank and fish they unlike other first time fishkeepers, they have allready put way too much money into it just to flush it all away. Most people like this have put out over $5,000 on a frist time tank that they had set up for less than 6 months. Unlike most life time fishkeepers most of wich spent less than $20.00 on their frist set up, fish and all. Well they want their $5,000 back, not going to happen but they are going to try very hard to. And thats why you will see people trying to sell $40.00 fish for over $200.00. Most for this fish are in poor shape at best.

I almost fell asleep reading that because it was so boring... why waste your time if you're not going to buy it? I don't go to a LFS and say "hey mate, why is your arowana 40, 000 dollars and the one down the street is 300!?!?" I'd just go down the street pick up my 300 dollar arowana drive home and be happy. I think there's logic there.

why waste your breath?
