I hate Silversides/Smelt

Why do they come all beat up and mutilated? I wish they were whole and werent shredded. I am trying to feed my fish and he shows interest, but gives it more of an odd look. I think he recognizes it as a fish, but sees a Weird looking fish thats in half or has part of its body shredded.

I was thinking about freezing goldish and maybe stuffing some pellets down their throats sorta like a gut load. I really dont know if this will work out. Anyone every do something like that? I was thinking about trying sardines, but arent those salty?


EDIT: I also have an odd request. Anyone have any fishing line? I am gonna try some mock fishing in my tank. I dont have any fish line, and I dont wanna buy a whole roll when I only need about 2-3 feet. If anyone has any, I could pay the shipping if you can help me out by sending me some. Thanks

I've seen smelt for sale at seafood markets. Check out a 99 Ranch...they may have some.

Hows it going with your Perch? Still trying with mine. Pellets, Krill, Silversides, Market shrimp - and I get nothing. The silversides are the only thing he kinda reacts to, but he just doesnt take the step to actually bite it, even though it looks like it wants to.

I traded in my catfish for store credit...didn't really want anything so I got feeders. It actually went for a frozen bloodworm cube, but spat it out after 3 seconds.

Yeah I just dipped a silverside in and he struck it but didnt take it. Just bit it and looked at it. Theres just something about it that he shows some interest to it. Maybe it looks like a fish or smells like one. He just doesnt follow through and actually bites and eats it.

you can buy whats called leader at walmart it's a tiny spool of line for around $2.00
