Hello MonsterFishKeepers administrators and members,
I came here to this forum, because i too have monster fish. I currently have about a 6 inch Nimbochromis Fuscotaeniatus (Fusco) and a 5 inch Common Pleco. Both are being housed in my 47 gallon African Cichlid tank. I hear the Fusco can reach sizes of 12'' and the Pleco at 18 monster inches.
My Fusco has amazingly beautiful colors, but has sadly outgrown my small 47G. I would love to keep raising this fish and am definetly considering upgrading my 47G to a 75 or 90G. But I hear at full size the fusco needs about 125G to be happy. Understandable since the 125G is 2 feet longer than the 75/90. I dont think i have the room or the $$$ to get a 125G. Would it be cruel of me to house this fish in a 4' long tank?
My other thought was just to upgrade to a 75G and just switch over to saltwater, and sell these beautiful freshwater cichlids/pleco. This 47G was my first tank ever but it is one i will never forget.
I would be glad to hear any advice or suggestions on what i should do. Thanks guys, and i look foward to hearing about your monster fish stories and dreams.
