I have a question about Fish Qty in my 90 gallon

hello everyone

in my new 90 gallon tank im just wanthing to know how many fish i should stop at . at the moment we have 30 danio's in it it was buy one get one free at the pet store, we are also going to be putting the big peco in the tank tonight . But a friend of my wifes mother breeds sword tails and she was to give us a bunch.


i just want to make sure i dont exceed the tanks limit of fish

i have some drift wood in at the momment to hold down the 2 live plants i have im sure the big pleco may give the beating to the 2 fake plants i have

i was so use to the 30 gallon tank now with the 90 im thinking did they give me 30 i can only see 10 at a time haha

for those small fish, I m sure you can load up a few hundred easily. put lots of plants too they will love it. I used to have over 300 swords and mollies in my 75

Damn what kind of filter did you run and how often did you do water changes. 30 zebra danios in a 90 is not bad the only thing is how long has the tank been up and running if under a month i wouldnt add anything till your tank fully cycles(bacteria builds up enough to handle the waste put off by the fish you know the nitrogen cycle) then add a few at a time maybe 5-9 small around 2 inch fish at a time if you dump a bunch of fish in becareful of an ammonia spike. When i add fish i like to add some kind of additional bacteria like Bio Spira by marineland or Cycle to help out with the extra load.

you could put a dwarf snakehead or 2 in there, and you wouldn't have to worry about having too many danios

you already have enough feeder fish for it!

A 90g will support 300 danio sized fish, or 40-50 swordtail sized ones.
