i have chance to buy group of fossichromis rostratus 6 in total i was thinking putting in my 6 foot tank the stock is in my signiture. I was wondering if you thinki could add these into tank?

We keep two mature fossies in a 6' x 2' 2.5' tank with 2 dozen other haps/ mbuna. Very peaceful fish, give them sandy areas to sift thru.

The two we have school all day long. The male does not bother anyone else but the female fossie. I have not owned more than two but think the schooling will be similar, not sure if two males will tolerate one another well.

10 frontosa's. How big are they?

The c.moorii's and front's are no milage burners but do get large. The C.Borleyi get kinda big and do move around alot. Those rostratus will add 6' of constant action as they do not really idle much.

I would guess it will have more to do with food competition than anything else. The fosorochromis are eating machines and the copadichromis are like swiming vaccuum cleaners, the dolphins do not leave much scraps after feeding so the fronts might need to be given some attention to their dietary needs.

the 10 fronts are still small not yet able to tell sex yet so proberly loose a few coz must be couple exrta males in there any way but the front's get enough food at the moment.

go for it...just get another tank...it's that simple...lol

but really, those are great fish and i don't see overstocking problems in the near future, but when everybody starts growing up...then you might have issues.
