Well as the thread title states I have been thinking about breeding my own feeders for my polys. I am looking for something easy to breed and maintain. Also something nutritious that will be a nice treat. I would like to keep them in a 30gal maximum but 10 would be better. Any suggestions? I have seen marble crays for sale in my area and have read people use them as feeders anyone have any experience with these?

what species are the bichirs?

Ornate, Senegal, Delhezi, Palmas Polli and Endlicheri. Hopefully more in the not so distant future. I will have to upgrade my 150g (72x24x20) but I am prepared. The largest is the Endli at about 10".

not worth the trouble in my book. all mine eat smelt as a staple... $2/lb

I would just like to make them work a little for a meal once in a while. Then maybe they will act a little more like they would in nature. Even though they live behind glass.

Personally i don't think its worth the effort usually but hey try setting up a 10 gallon and raise livebearers-Anne
