Okay, heres the scoop. I recently acquired two 75 gallon tanks. I have experience keeping just about everything except cichlids. So, I thought to try a cichlid tank. What I am looking for are cichlids that do not get too big, about 9" max, are interesting to observe, and stunning, but interesting takes the cake. I have been thinking Apistogrammas, or maybe firemouths, convicts, and the like, but also debating some Tanganyikan cichlids. So, anybody have any suggestions?

What about firemouth and jewels? What are rainbows? An apostogramma or something different? (I know, showing my ignorance. I can set up and run a 2 gallon reef tank, but know nothing of cichlids!)

Firemouths and jewels can work. Rainbow cichlids are related to convict if I remember correctly( somebody correct me if not) not a apostogramma.

You can can put so many apistos in a 75. What about a cuban cichlid? Nandopsis tetracanthus. Definitely a beautiful cichlid. It would be in there alone. If I haven't gone with my midevil I would have a cuban cichlid for sure.
