no where
she killed her mate that was seperate from her but she somehow jumped over and killed him and now flareing at my livebearers and shes also in my 29 galon to with my other cichlids... :popcorn:i named her harvey after my mom

Bettas are aggro, both male & female. Females can handle more though, because they don't have those deliciously nippable long trailing fins. Your betta will get at the livebearers, will eat any fry they might have, and if that goldfish is still in there she'll likely de-fin it.

Why did you put a freaking beta fish in with cichlids?

I have a female that killed one male, and almost killed a second one twice - she is now in retirement, only one successful breeding.

Another way to pick females other than the fins is to see if she has a white 'egg' like protuberance in front of her anal fin. This becomes more noticable when she is ready to breed

Bettas can often be kept in community tanks - just avoid any other fish with long fins if you have a male betta in the tank - he may think it's competition. Although like with any fish there are exceptions, some fish just plain old do not play well with others.

If you want to isolate her, you can put her in a mini-tank by herself or buy one of those clear boxes that hang onto the tank so she can still live in the same quality water.

There is just no cure for aggressive fish... arg, but at least you can isolate a betta pretty easily.

she might be mean, but those cichilds will tear her to pieces

Yeah, I'm not sure why everyone makes bettas out to be some kind of extraordinarily aggressive fish.
They can be aggressive to their own kind and to smaller colorful fish, but otherwise they're not going to rip a larger or more aggressive fish apart.

A betta with firemouthes and convicts is eventually a dead betta.

If there's a bichir in there too, like in the poster's signature, he's gonna try to eat it.

Based on sig, if the poly is with the loaches, the loaches are dinner.
