I got my gt a couple of months ago and have read several different things about there size. Some places say they will grow about 12-14 inches and some say 8-10. I was just curious what the average size for a green terror to grow would be

The first picture he was being a camera hog

I had one at about 12" but got bullied from my rd and died he was a nice looking GT as well as yours

A GT will most likely never ever reach anything more than 12 inches... Unless you are feeding it like a bodybuilder in the off season.

Thanks guys. I was not expecting him to get much bigger than about 10-11 inches. My game plan is to get a bigger tank and get some more of them and try to breed them

nice looking fish, largest I ever had was a 8-9" female

he should grow to be about 7-10 inches...it really depends on what size tank he is in, what you feed him, and the water quality..........also you should make a little cave for you GT give him a nice home you know what i mean....good luck!

In the wild they can easily grow to that size, a lot of factors come into play with captive bred fish - especially if you're not buying them through local breeders. The first year of feeding and water quality for a fish - including low nitrates is critical to having a bruiser at old age. If you can get him into at least a 180 gallon tank and feed him somthing with a 30%+ protein content 4-6 times a day for the first two years of his life he has a very good chance of exceeding 10".

Most green terrors never make it past the 10" mark in captivity.

Yea I have to say out of all the fish I have ever had he is very active. He knows when im gonna feed him and comes right up to the top to wait for the food. Cant wait till he gets a little bigger.
