He's got some nice colors, as for hiding in the corner he might have established that as his territory. Try rearranging the decor and see if that makes a difference.
 
Its that the other fish chase him into that corner. They don't really let him leave. They will nip at him and he won't fight back.

you could try pullin out the aggressors for a timeout leave em in a bucket for a couple hours-this may help,and add rocks.those mbuna can be mean.I have a peacock that fights w/a sp44 and a carpintas.so far,no one has died.They fight to establish territories or to impress their mates.sometimes it's to the death,but not usually
 
I find that although they will fight to breed,it also gives them a reason to live

The peacock is doing okay. They are starting to let him out moor so I figure its just a break in thing. He has some torn fins but no body damage. I plan on making a slate structure to replace one of the smaller fake ones so I cab put it back in my 55 gallon, just gave to get out to the rock store
