i dream of having a big tank with 2 or more aros in it

ihave a 15 inch rtg
15 inch 1.5
16 inch jardinii.

myrtg is in a 1200litre.

in it is

4x spotted metynis
2 red hook metynis
1 silver dollar
1 trinfoil barb
11 clown loaches
1x 5 to 6 inch dat
1x 12 inch CK
1x 5 inch 6 bar distichodus
1x royl plec
1x scarlet plec
4x dels
1x albino senegal
1x 16 inch ornate
2x palmas polli
1x parrot cichlid

I am thinking of putting in the 1.5 red in there, see what happens.
im scared that it will bite eazch others sidefins, which brokn will never heal the same again.
tail, and back fins would, but i dont want permanent damage or death.

or even all three in one tank lol
but dont konw
really need someone to tell me not to do it!

also, if i put the 1.5 red in there with the rtg, how quickly will they fight?
if they dont fight after 5 mins, will they fight later?
or generally would you know if they will be fine together quickly?
 
I will say dont jump into it. Tankmates cant solve the aggression between the arowanas.
 
hit and miss with these aro comms. it is very heartbreaking when it does not work. you will know until you try it, but be ready to move them out ... i imagine it is not a simple task to fish out a fish from 1200 liter =P

recently, i had to evactuate green aro from my new combined comm tank 8' (silvers and paimas + xback) ... someone bit off green aros tail off completely. now he is back with jar and ray ... at least my jar is mild mannered

I say go for it but be ready to move there is trouble. 5 minutes of peace will not guarantee peace everlasting. one thing is sure, it will be stressful for you both

test it out. put a divider in the tank. see if they try to attack each other first.
 
whats a 1.5?

red tail goliath? whats a rtg
 
if you have an itch...scratch it. try it out if it doesn't work take the instigators out
 
like T said dividers! and my aros do ignore the smaller aros but sumtimes nip the aro around its size

No pain, no gain! :D If you want to comm them, put all three together and watch them closely. If they fight hard, tearing each other apart, then you must remove them. Arowana will fight all the time, no matter how long they've been together with each other. What's matter is are they nipping each other, or are they tearing each other apart

They always fight, with or without divider :D Even they get used to seeing each other through divider, once you remove it, fight will begin. Even they've been together, they still nip each other now and then.
