luckily bichirs are very hardy I had 2x 12" ropefish and a 12" lungfish that got lost in the mail for 4 days then when the mailman dropped the box off he didn't ring the bell and I discovered the box an hour later I was pissed it was 104 outside and I had a sign on the door telling him to ring the doorbell. Amazingly they were alive and when I opened the bag the smell almost knocked me over. I think any other fish wouldn't of made it

well the peaock eel survived the night at one point it was having problems swimming to the surface I added some stress coat by late night it seemed much stronger this morning it is sittind in a pvc pipe I put in there

I would not buy on eBay or postal fish. Get from a decent fish shop, they may be a bit more expensive but they carry the losses and sort out the fish for sale. My LFS often have fish for 4 weeks before offering for sale.

I know most if not all of the fish stores in my area don't quarantine but almost all have tanks individually filtered but I agree ebay is not a good place to buy fish however there are a few decent online stores like wet spot and aquabid is a decent place if you are buying from well reviewed sellers that will send you a pic of the fish before bidding

yes some of the ebay sellers are just copying and pasting photos from google there are 2 sellers selling spiny eels and both sellers have the same photo and the name of the spiny eels don't match the photo's I got half a refund from ebay and not the seller I wanted to leave negative feedback but ebay removed the listing when I spoke to their customer services I accused them of supporting the seller more than the buyer. they wanted me to post the live fish back had to explain to them that special a special box oxygen and heat packs would be needed to send the live fish back .They asked if the seller could put the box the heat packs and the oxygen in the post to so I could send the fish back . You could only laugh
