And I am utterly in love!

LOL even my mom said, "I want one!"

(Well, her exact words were, "Yo quiero uno!", but po-tay-to, poh-tah-to.)

I'm a bit of a nerd, LOL, and I love research, so I probably won't get one for a few more months (I first need to learn the art of saltwater fish keeping, considering all my experience solely includes freshwater), but I guess the main would be... where do I even FIND one of these?

And I guess I'd like one of the nicer ones, like the bright green one, or the Peacock.

Or whatever you guys recommend (with pictures! :)).

Yeah they are pretty cool. Yeah research them, some get bigger than others. I see them sometimes at my fish store, other than that you might have to rely online to get one.

there usually considered a pest in peoples tanks the will eat anything even crabs and they can split you finger in half and break glass tanks i wanted one to

I love MAntis Shrimp Too! Its funny that my good pal ,the guy you qouted and I have always joked about Mantis shrimp for years! I know a place in Slymar that usually has some,I don't think they are too hard to find unless you want a certain type? Decide if you want the "spearer" type that spear their food or the "basher" type that "bash". The Bashers you need to be careful of because those are the ones that can break your Tank glass as the rumors go. I am sure someone here can probably get you any type you would like? I think it's great you are doing the research first, it seems like sometimes researching BEFORE you buy is becoming a lost art!

I think I want both! Obviously in different tanks.

Maybe a Zebra as a spearer (unless there are prettier ones out there) and a Peacock (or the bright green one for which I CANNOT find anywhere on the web a common name for) for a smasher. Hey, we've got TONS of 10 gallon tanks laying around here, why not one for each?

peacock mantis in a 30-40 with a possible clown fish and anemone, i researched them for a while, and this looked the most appealing to me, the peacock are beautiful and get about 6 inches

I hear that they are very hardy

unless you pour blech into the tank or something similar, they should be ok
