I need to know bad is it possible to keep stingrays with pleco's. I've heard common pleco's go right for the rays slimecoats is this also common with some fancy pleco's. Has anyone successfully kept pleco's with stingrays. Cleaning the algae is a real chore and I keep scratchin my glass with the sand. If not a pleco or algae magnets what do you guys use to keep the algae in your ray's tanks. Thanx in advance.

Regular water changes, keep a close eye on the amount of food and no more than 8 hours of light, that should solve your algae problems. I never clean my glasses. I keep a Panaque nigroliniatus with my motoro male with no probs, and he was first with my retic couple, and he doesnt even get close to them.....but he never touch the glass :)

I have a albino bristlenose in with my rays and she never seems to bug them. My tank also never builds up any algae. And what does I just use the magnet to clean off.

i use a mag float and have a algea mop for the back of the tank.... try more water changes and less light....

I have a 1" clown pleco in my 375g with 3 retics.. with 200 lbs of driftwood. I don't think they realize that they co-exist.

The only ray my plecos have messed on was my tiger and they did a hell of a job on her but they didn't ever mess with the motoros or the flower and I'm guessing only because the motoros have a rougher back than the tiger, Its almost like sandpaper.

OMG Miles....200# of drift wood............I sure hope you found most of that yourself...good golly that would be expensive

Some of us don't charge by the pound... :lipsseale:uhoh:

I currently have a pleco with my 2 motoros. He spends most of the day hiding and never bothers the rays, I think they all have individual personalities.
