I just noticed something when i feed my argus and pleuro...

Today i gave them some feeders (Japanese ricefish) and i noticed that the pleuro didn't "miss" nearly as many times as the argus, when it went for a feeder...
The argus would miss the feeder quite often the first time, though it would get it in the end..whereas the pleuro usually would get lucky the first time..

I wounder if it has anything to do with the fact that the eyes of the pleuro are much larger then the argus??

Any of you have similar experiences??

I think the success of a fish's strike depends on the individual fish rather than the species. I think it comes down to genetics. Basically survival of the fittest. For example if you and I had to go out and hunt food by chasing them down and I could run faster and longer than you. I'm more likely to survive.

You have a point there, also i would suspect that as they get older they get more "experience" and thus better?!
