ri
any one hurd of them before and any info on them would be good what do they eat and how big do they get i will post pics when it comes in

very similar to a common, get large

x2 . . . when I was a kid - - all those years ago - - one of the first fish names I ever learned was "gibbiceps", because that is what the common plecos were sold as . . .

we didn't buy plecos, we bought gibbies . . .

yeah, they are similar to the common plecos but get a tad larger and have a larger dorsal fin, their common name is the sailfin pleco, i have a young one a little smaller than 4in and he is definitely not shy at all, he is out all the time and has no problem chasing the other fish away from his algae wafers, these are a mainly veggie pleco, and will eat mostly algae wafers and slices of zucchini, cucumber, etc that you put in there for them as well as the left over meaty pellets that get left over from your fish, but they get huge, like larger than 2ft!

They are cool. My lfs has a albino i will be picking one up soon.

i ended up changeing my mind and orderd a rubber pleco because i dont want a really big pleco in my 102 gal tank cuz im going to be housing 15 african cichlids, a clown pleco, royal farllowell and 3 syno cats

congrats on your addition!

good job on getting a different plec. its good to do research BEFORE making decisions.
