Mornin MFK! I just got a trimac and was hoping I could get some tips on background and substrate color to get the most out of this little guy. Maybe ill plaster Midas and other trimac pics to the tanksides lol. Really any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks friends!

I like black or other dark backgrounds. It makes the colors of fish pop. I like a natural-looking substrate of sand and/or small stones. Sometimes fish will darken over a dark substrate, having a substrate of neutral earth tones seems to work better for me. Enjoy your Trimac. They are beautiful cichlids!

Instead of pasting pix to the tank, try using a mirror for 20-30 mins a day.
Post some pix of the fish, I luv Trimacs too.

The wet spot is one of the coolest shops I have been to. Its a good 2.5 hr drive for me because I'm in Tacoma, WA. But I stop in every time I go to Portland. Congrats on the new Trimac! They are awesome fish.

Here's a picture, sorry about the quality, all I have is ny blackberry. The fella I spoke with said it came in an order from rapps but I'm not 100% he was totally correct because he was also suggesting it was a quality male. The spot in the dorsal is the dead givaway that its female from what I understand. Anyhow, its awesome for her size and eats voraciously so I'm excited to see if I can eventually get her in my big tank with the dovii

Nice I had one from them a while back but my flowerhorn killed it. Everytime I have been there recently they have had really small ones so I never got one again. Dark gravel seemed to make mine more green and lighter gravel made it lime green.

She was 12 bucks, they said they got it in a big order from a private breeder and the guy mentioned mr. Rapos theu really get some amazing species in here and there
