I know EBJDs aren't cheap, but

110 aint bad considering the size of the fish, and the difficulty in raising them. i would actually almost consider it personally

I know someone who paid £15 ($30) each for 1" EBJD juvis's.....turned out to be regular JD's....at least paying that much for an adult you know what you are getting!!

Agree due to inbreeding they have poor immune systems so large ones aren't as common as small ones. That price isn't far off.

ive benn very curious about picking up a couple ebjd's, but this thread is the first time ive heard about them being so sensitive. anyone have any more info on their care

i kept one juvi alive from about 1-4" in 8 months or so before he died. need pristine water, good foods, very food filtration, tank-mates that wont harass it much, followed by a wing and a prayer.

very difficult cichlid to keep, but also extremely beautiful when they live to a good size, plus you get bragging rights for doing so:headbang2
