I Am no expert and " I mean it " . But to me I have saw some like that .
And they were called< AFRICAN KNIFE > Not clown knife or royl knife but just plan jan
AFRICAN KNIFE.

thank you i started looking africans up and mine looks alot more like an african than a clown which could be good be alot cheaper to house :headbang2 i had every intention of getting a larger tank for him but now it only has to be a few gals bigger and hes in a 30gal right now only because he is only a 4 incher thank you for the help man i appreciate it.

looks like notoperus notoperus

Go to my thread: ID this knife please

I have a pic of my juvinile knife there. Compare the two pictures. Both look very similar to me but Ive been told it was a Chitala lopis...

I dunno whats going on now, if there is any difference between the two let me know.

i dont see any differences at all but this is only the first knife i have ever owned so i do not know that much about them so still could use some help getting a positive ID on this knife thanx everyone

I agree. Definatly an african brown knife.

but hes not brown hes silver is it possible that he will change color ??? i dont know lol i guess the only way i am going to know is to let him grow a bit right

It's not an African Brown Knife. They don't have dorsal fins. The pictures are a bit grainy, but I think it might be a Notoperus Notoperus. If the head looks like an African Brown Knife, but it has a dorsal fin than it's a good chance that it's a N. Notoperus. If it's spotless and looks like a regular Clown Knife, then it's a good chance that it's a Chitala Lopis.
