Anyone know what this fish is? I had a few sold to me as "garnet tetras" but I think that's usually used to refer to something else. I just called them my "tuxedo" guys because of the white and black tail spots - mine all had two larger white blotches split by a black spot. They have a longer anal fin that gets a gorgeous reddish tinge in as they mature (prob only in the males but I only had three to compare), and the anal and dorsal fins both have a white tip. Really striking. Here's some more pics that I could find that look like the ones I had: 1, 2. They both call them garnets but mine looked different than most I've seen with that name.

How about these? It's listed on a few sites as a Hemigrammus rodwayi. I think this one is the same sp. too, though I also have a few that look like this that I'm fairly certain are something else, maybe H. levis. Here's another picture of what I think is H. levis. I might have those two switched... I'm not a systematist, by any means!

Feel free to add your own "what tetra am I" links here too... I'm always looking for cool tets and good to find out about new ones!

Green fire tetra, not easy to find but trear like a cardinal, they get aboutthe same max size but are a little more tolerant towards higher pH. levels.
