if i got a dovii for the 150 would it kill everything i know i think it would but maybe it would just show who's boss and then leave it, what do u guys think the tank mates would be 1 male jag 1 male RD and 1 male buttikicker.

thanks

howard

Convicts and Buttikoferi(kickers) where the only thing that he couldnt catch, then he stopped trying.

so u had a dovii? and he killed everything apart from the cons and buittikoferies?

hehe dovii can be kept succesfully in tanks smaller then myn trust me iv seen dovii in 110g tank.. breeding pair.. male 18"+

i told u i knew the answer lol i just thought id make some conversation thanks for joining in people.

I think you would be ok on the tank size, Ive got a 125g tank and everyone told me that a black shark would be too big for a tank that size, I got one anyway and its worked out just fine. If it gets a little cramped well then he's probably still alot better off than if I would have left him in the fish store where some tool who dosent know a thing about fish stuck him in a 50g or something. Anyway, if your jag and your devil are already established fish, and you stick in a smaller dovi, there is a good chance it will work. Ive experimented with this in the past with much success. If the Devil and the Jag dominate the dovii while he is smaller, by the time he outgrows them, many times he will get used to the established pecking order and will not attack either fish even though he is signifigantly larger.

trust me..just because a fish can be kept alive in a certain tank size doesn't mean that it should be. ;) dovii don't belong in anything below a 180 and that's even way too small.

also, guapotes don't do well together...i'm referring to the jag and dovii. they are hyper territorial in the first place but when in tank with other similar species (ie other guapotes) they're even worse.

jag + red devil + dovii in a 150 = recipe for disaster ;)
