and he didn't change the water...i usually change twenty percent of the water twice a week because its a goldfish and the water tests within normal limits for nitrate and with 0 nitrites normally. but over the course of the week and a half (i was camping
it was fun, haft to find a better fish sitter though)the water turned completely bad, so bad that the test kit doesn't have a square on it as dark as mine. the fish looks perfectly fine, his fins are open and he's not itching or showing any other signs of stress, i guess that's because hes a goldfish, but i changed half the water anyways.. i'm worried it was too much, but even with changing half the water the test kit says my nitrites are still of the charts, while my nitrates are looking much more normal (still not perfect or good enough) at what my kit reads as 40 for nitrates and "danger" for nitrites
i want to gravel vac and change out ALL the water or at least do another fifty percent change, but im worried this would be too extreem, all the water i used in my last fifty change was aged but i ran out of aged water. and i feel like if i do a change that big again even with aged water it could be bad. my fish still looks fine though... oddly... so maybe its not worth it and i should wait a day. maybe two? what do you think
