ok, so i really want to get my 10gal going again at school. its the largest im aloud to have in my apt...i know it sucks :/

so far this is what i have

10gal
aquaclear 30 (a little over powered, but i think its gonna be perfect)
drift wood (its LARGE for a 10 gal)
airstone and pump

and this is where i need yall :)

deco? what do you think:
sand as a substrate?
java fern and other plants? (NO co2, unless i make it with the yeast..)

live stock:
some type of cori cats
some type of rainbows? idk if they can live in a 10 for life havnt researched lol)
maybe a couple tetra's, not sure what kind yet

What do yall think??

and no latin names please :D im not that good yet haha

A 10 gallon tank is too small for most rainbows. If you must keep rainbows, try the threadfin rainbow. Fish only grow to 2".

If you find that the flow from your aquaclear 30 is too much, put a sponge over the intake strainer and turn the flow rate down.

Most Corydoras species require a group of 5+ and atleast a 20 gallon to be happy. If I were you I would do a small planted community tank, or a planted beta tank.

Khuli's I think might get too big (at least mine got big for a 15g)

Maybe a couple dwarf corie's, no species off the top of my head though.

I say plant it and add a single dwarf puffer, it's easy to add lights and low co2 plants. There are also plant 'tabs' that will help growth. or add guppies and plan on giving fish away!

Do 1 betta and 8 ottos or 10 cardinal tetras and 1 bristlenose pleco (both are a little overstocked but what the hell). A brackish setup with a small puffer sounds cool too
