Can someone help me find a lasrger tank for a Pacu. The Pacu is located in a waiting room of a Dialysis Center in Long Island. The tank she is in now is 210gallons. Money for a larger tank is impossible. She is almost as large as the tank is wide. So if anyone knows some willing to donate a larger tank,I think they will give you the 210 in exchange.

thats a beauty.......why dont you try that craig list i keep hearing about in america

Seems to me it would be better finding the pacu an adiquate home, maybe at a public aquarium or someone with 500 plus gallons. Clean up that 210g and find some more appropriate fish to live in it.

Yes it is cheap but how effective is it? You should try it on yourself before recommending to others.

There is no need to destroy the fish, with some effort it can be found a proper home.

Funny, the people who we are putting in charge of our own human health can't figure out growth stunting.

I'd look for someone locally with a small pool of a fish tank.

The true unfortunit fact of everything, is that people by fish like these pacu, and do not know the size they grow too. If everyone gave their pacu to the public aquarium there would be no room for anything else. Its not as common for people to have aquariums that could fit such a fish outside our crazy monster fish world.
It is more likely that the fish will end up distroyed one way or another.

that was tasteless. A fish that size deserves a decent life. Imagine what is has gone through. I would put out ads online. Good luck

Nope...The hospital around here picks fish via the blindfolded method.
They send someone to the LFS ..Tie them up with a blindfold and have them pick some fish. Or at least that's how it appears.

Resulting choices include irresdescent sharks, goldfish, pacus, pima cats combined with small shoaling fish etc/.
I tried contacting the person who looks after the tanks and couldn't find them.

On the other hand, I saw a great hospital tank housing a community of African cichlids somewhere else.

If a dialysis center says they cant afford to upgrade it, they just don't care.

/or they're managed horribly.

For your information They have had her for 7 years. The tanks been upgraded at least 7 times already. The tank is the same size as Red Devils. i am now the one taking care of the tank. Her water hasn't been changed in one year. Now the tank has a FX5, Two Filstar XP3's, Two 300watt heaters, new gravel, new background. As soon as the filters mature then I will do a massive water change. Now I know how some of the people on this website really are. I was right. Thanks for the help. She's going in a 350 in 3 weeks anyway.
