Title says it all, I need to get a cover for my new 55gal. It came with some covers and lights, but I'm not a fan and I am going with a different light setup. It is 11' deep and 23' long section(2) I was going to cut plexiglass and put handles on them(to move the cover when needed) but figured that it could warp due to the heat from the lights. I then thought of using some mesh cover but again thought it would warp/bend. Anyone have any ideas for me to use.

Lexon is super tough.

Is it possible to drill holes in acrylic? I was thinking about having some cut but wasn't too sure if you can drill into acrylic?

This is your best bet here. No reason to try and fool around with trying to build something when the alternative is cheaply available at just about every LFS.

I agree! Plus the hinge that comes on the LFS tops makes life a little easier.
