ok, ive seen a few barebottom tanks with massive CK's. heres my question. do they need a hiding spot? most of the BBT have no hiding spots for them. also i wanna start gettin him off of feeders, any suggestions?

they don't exactly need a hiding spot but they'll use one if there is one, I just have a plant that more or less gives him a dark spot to hide, they have sensitive eyes (they usually get foggy cataract eyes when they get older) and it's good to have a dark spot somewhere, I made sure my dark spot in the tank was a place I could see him cause it sucks when your fish always hides out.
as for weening off feeders, I found with mine I still give in and him him feeders on the occasion but when I first stopped he didn't eat anything else, I started with earthworms cause they're alive but not a fish, get him recognizing that there's more to food than fish. then I got him on big frozen shrimp, just kinda holded it near the surface and jigged it, dropped it when he got close, now he eats anything from shrimp,, worms, raw fish fillets and silversides (doens't like silversides though, only eats them when he's really hungry) anyways, he'll taste anything once now whereas he used to not even look at anything not moving.

Large CKs will not hide as much as small CKs. They are ambush predators and prefer a place to hide just to pull a sneak attack on their prey.

How are you going to hide a 3' clown knife :D With a 1' Hump :D

Awesome when they get that big :) When yours hits that size you will be takin everything out want to or not :D Well other than the rest of the monsters :D And the tank will still be beautiful :)
