So far none of the fish I've kept have given me that satisfied "wow" feeling of a true predator. My VATF has me close, but not quite. What kind of fish would give me what I want? All I can think of going for is a GATF or Armatus. Any others?

(Please nobody tell me what size tank is needed and etc., I'm looking for some positive ideas from everyone)

Thanks

if you can do salt water get a mantis shrimp, may be small but man they are mean, plus they are often very chea since nobody wants them killing coral and fish in reef setups. watch your hands though...

My goliath sits around allday and dosent really move, cool to look at and eats good but the Armatus grows fast and eats good as well. Ive havent owned an armatus yet but my tat moves around alot. looking at my goliath and seeing the armatus on youtube it would be hard to chose. Try looking at rays. there alittle off path hah

A jag should fit the bill. if you have enouf space an umbee or a dovii would be coo aggressive fishl. If you are limited in aquarium space i would try convicts. JDs don't get way to big and are pretty aggressive. a midas/RD would also be a cool aggressive fish.

how about some gar their always action packed at feeding time back when i used to have mine they would come up to the top and wait for me when they would see me coming with their food.
plus their very hardy.

Get aggressive cichlids. they are really cool and interactive and aggressive. i think a convict would be a good choice if your aquariums is at lest 15 gallons. If your aquariums is at least 50 gallons you could get a single JD. if your aquarium is 70 gallons or more you could get a Midas/RD a red terror, a texas cichlid, 2 JDs, a male GT or a feamle jag, if your aquariums is 90-120 gallons you could get a male Jag or a female umbee. These are just some cool options. but OP if you tell everyone to not say what aquarium size that proves that you are going to put the fish you get in an aquarium that is too small. Putting fish in environments that is too small is inappropriate and cruel.
