im in california also to ship a fish that big is pretty easy. get 2 fish bags from your local fish store ask for the biggest bags they have they should have some that are big if they have large fish there. then get a box that will be able to fit the bag inside. fill up the bag with water. also 1 day before shipping dont feed the fish bc just in case theres a 1 day delay in shipping or something if he doesnt have food in his system he wont poop and contaminate the water. put styrofoam in the box on the bottom and sides and then put the bag with the fish inside of the box. then put a heating pad or just some hand warmers inside to keep it warm. put more styrofoam on top and then close the box seal it tightly with tape and make sure to write on the box LIVE FISH INSIDE so they know to handle with care then do overnight shipping
