We went from a 46 gallon with an HOB and two Eheim 2028's without a canopy to a 90 gallon plus canopy with a Pan World 200 PS and canister filters.
My wife has a neurological condition where she is hypersensitive to noise. If it gets too noisy she becomes disoriented and then sick. So I chose the Pan World because it has a reputation for being relatively quiet. Unfortunately, the pump is too loud for her.
The Pan World is a high pressure pump rated at approximately 1,750 gph although I realized the actual flow rate would be less than this. I expected to have to throttle back the flow to 900 gph. As it turned out the actual flow rate is a little over 900 gph.
While there are no silent pumps I am hoping someone could suggest a pump that is as near to silent as possible even if it means paying significantly more money.
