This was marked as a sunshine peacock but I knew it wasn't. I didn't mention anything because I was talking with the manager and they have a tendancy to mark fish up if they realize it's unusual. Here's a link to a few pics I was able to snap. He's new so he's still hiding a lot. Please let me know if you know what he is. Thanks.

hey bro,

sorry to say it but it looks like a sunshine peacock to me. The bluehead and the yellow body leads me to think that its nothing else. Either way its a beautiful fish. What through me off was the darker parts of it, i guess it may be a hybrid of some sort or maybe hes just stressed. Either way nice pickup.

Definitely not a sunshine peacock. The yellow is too muted and the dark fins are very uncharacteristic. I believe what you have is one of the yellow aulonocara stuartgranti variants, such as the usishya variant.

After looking at some google pics I think you're right. The usishya variety has the same tail pattern and coloration. Thanks for the great ID. Like I said, I knew it wasn't a sunshine but I wasn't about to tell the manager that.

I would also agree with the stuartgranti ID looks more like it esp. in the coloring. Its def. way off to be a sunshine! Nice pick up =)
