Anyone have a recommendation for custom 3d background? For a reasonable cost of course. 96" split in center for OF. And 34x34 each side?
Semi soft for impact resistance for my babies faces! I will get exact measurements of course. Anyone? Link?

Check out Albertan's 1,000 gallon tank build. Everything in his tank was made by Universal Rocks, including the low profile rocky background on the floor of the tank.

If you want to build your own background, Polygem is the way to go. Big names in the industry use Polygem products for their backgrounds and decorations.

Jrt uses Polygem in his incredible builds.

Thx. I have a waterfall on my pool from universal. Funny... I never even thought about it.

Now I have to think flat or crevice. I love the crevice but takes space!!!!

I would suggest as someone above did that you look into building one yourself. I've done a ton of 3d backgrounds for people in my club as well as for customers and all it takes is a little creativity and a bit of time. Far as how to do it, there are other ways to do it other than polygem. While you see them use polygem on shows such as tanked that is actually the least used method for us DIY aquarium guys. When most DIY'ers started doing 3d bg's years ago concrete was the medium used in the beginning, but now a days the most common method is drylok over carved foam sealed with pond armor. It's a pretty easy method that pretty much will last the life of your tank.

Some years back I did a step by step for the guys on my local cichlid clubs forum and a lot of guys have now built their own using this how-to. If you want to try making one yourself here's the link to the step by step I did that might help walk you through doing it http://michigancichlid.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?topic=5946.0

I am a fan of the cheap EBAY Chinese foam backgrounds. You get each piece for about $10 bucks, and silicon them to the back of the tank. Only downside is they come in 24" pieces (maybe they have different dimensions, not sure) and so you will have some seams.
Here is mine, used 2.5 pieces for a 60" tank

To find it, just go on ebay and type in "3d foam aquarium background". They make a bunch of different designs and colors. I have had this in my tank for about a year, it has held up well and no negative effects on the aquarium residents.
