I need Dithers

Hi,


I have a JD, Sajica, Salvini, and Blue Acara. I need some dithers for them. What would you recommend? If you wouldnt mind, list several cause I dont know what my store carries right now. I basically want something thats fast and less likely to get caught. A schooling species is recommended too. Thx

Giant danios would work for awhile. So would tinfoil barbs until they get too big.

Serpae Tetras would add a nice splash of color and they look really nice when you have a large school. But I'm afraid that you would have to keep adding them to your tank as they would disappear...

Tiger Barbs should work with that particular mix of fish. I love mine and they're super at cleaning up food chunks that Cichlids spit out. There's also the albino variety that are orange and creme striped-real pretty if you don't like the black & orange striped ones. They're super fast, ornery and get about 2".

Filament barbs, roseline sharks, rainbow fish, big tetras (black tets, congos, deep bodied tets)

Goodeids are also a good choice with CA cichlids that aren't big enough to eat them. I have pairs / groups in with most of my medium sized CA pairs.

Fish as big as JDs and salvini will eat/kill them, however...
