I just got a great deal on a 150 gal glass with built in overflows. Problem is I don't know anything about sumps and I love my fx5 on my 75. Also I'm afraid of noise with a sump. Unlike my fx5 which is completely silent. So is there a prebuilt sump setup I can by that you all could recommend to run along with a fx5.
Sorry for the run on and thanks in advance.

If you don't want to deal with the sump you could just plumb the FX5 into the overflow holes and run it sort of like a closed loop setup. That's how my 120 has been set up for a while (due to laziness). I just got an adapter to get the hoses all hooked up tightly and that was that. I stuck some foam in the bottom of the overflow over the hole and have a very easily removable mech pre-filter too.

That said, I'm going to try to set it up as a sump. Not because I find this setup ineffective, but because I want to run a drip system and can't do that properly without a sump.

But there's no reason you couldn't go ahead and put one FX5 on each overflow (if you're doubling the tank size you can't go wrong doubling your filtration too).

Thanks for the replies but is there not a prebuilt sump system that I can purchase thats quiet and I can run a FX5 with also.

I don't know about a pre-built sump system, but putting a sump together yourself is not that hard.
If you want something you can just throw on the tank, get a second canister.
If you want some versitility, awesome filtration, and learn some new skills, get a sump.
For a silent sump, read up on the Herbie (2 pipe) or Beananimal (3 pipe) method.
