A couple times, I purchased hermit crabs, the first time 1, the next time 2. They all died about a week or so later. I think it's because they wouldn't eat anything I gave them. I tried hermit crab food, and vegetables. One of them took a piece of corn and crawled off with it, but didn't eat it. I also kept their tank moist, and sprayed them regularly with dechlorinated water. I really want to get hermit crabs some day, and keep them alive. What am I missing?

Oh yes, I had a shallow little plastic water container, with a ramp for easy access. They rarely went into it, though.

For them to die that quickly I would suspect dehydration.

Hermit crabs aren't exactly poised to take over the world, I wouldn't be surprised that they didn't figure out the whole "ramp" thing with the water dish.

Try wet sponges next time, and bathing them weekly doesn't hurt either. Just place them in a container with 1/4" of dechlorinated water and let them crawl around a little while to rehydrate.

Okay, that sounds good. But I'm more concerned about them eating.

that sounds like a good idea i would try what elevate suggested...

They need a FW bowl AND a SW bowl. ;)
They may have been eating, but land hermits don't eat much so you might just not have noticed. They'll eat prety much anything.
