So here's the thing I had the small red line thermometer in my 55 gallon tank that has the tiger Oscar in my profile pic in it. I went to feed him and he got excited and broke the thermometer. It was just the bottom part that broke but it had those little metallic balls in it. I don't know what the little balls are made of and I don't want bubbles my fish to get hurt. So if anyone knows what they are or have any suggestions let me know.

I have vacuumed the tank pretty well but I don't think I got all of the little balls out I was just wondering if I should drain the tank and replace the rocks.

The metal balls are most likely made of steel and are there to weigh the thermometer down. Many people have had the thermometers break in their tank with no harmful affects on the fish.

Yep and I'm one of them.I have one of those that have been broken for as long as I can remember.
