hello, i just bought a stocked 125 gallon tank. it has 6 jack dempseys (it was 9 i got rid of 3) 7 tin foil barbs 1 pink convict and 1 pleco. i am looking to only have 2 jack dempsy fish left, i want to move them to a breeding tank. but i need to know which 2 to keep. i dont want to end up with 2 males!! so here are a few pics. i know the big one is a male, its the other ones im not sure about. and the color seems light to me... any ideas?

your right the bottom big one is a male, you said you want to breed them? i would suggest letting them form a pair while there is still this many, from the looks of it you have mostly female besides the bottom two pics, i would move out your other male and let a pair form between the remaining females and the big male. Hope i helped :)

I agree with ^ this one hundred percent. When you allow the fish to decide, you get the best fish possible (genetically speaking, less deformities and so on)

the very colorful ones are males, and the not so colorful ones are females
