I have a 55 gallon tank right now, water parameters are all 0 with a very slight elevation in nitrAtes. It's a freshwater set up of course. The tank has been set up for about 2 months, with fish being in it for the last month and a half or so. I have 6 blue gene Jack Dempsey's and it is divided 60/40 with 2 electric blue Jack Dempsey's. I've had the BGJD's for 6 weeks and the EBJDs for just about 2 weeks. None of the fish were ever quarantined as they came from the same source, which is known for healthy fry. I have no live plants. I'm running an Aqua Clear 110 and a Marineland Emporer 280 on it, I usually clean off all my filter media every other WC depending on if it needs it or not. Don't really use anything else equipment wise. It gets natural sunlight just so long as it's sunny in the AM before I wake up. Usually I give them 8-12 hours of darkness. I did my last WC Friday and was going to do another Monday night. I always do atleast 2-10 gallon water changes a week with a decent surface sweep of the substrate around the decor and one of the WC's I remove the decor and whipe it down with the tank water to get any debris off of it as well as making sure I get any food or waste that might have gotten stuck in and under the decor. I feed them a variety of foods. Mostly NLS with frozen brine shrimp, freeze dried bloodworms, freeze dried tubifex worms and peas once a week each as treats. I usually will feed them good before a WC, but otherwise I don't overfeed til they're all fat and bloated up. Yesterday in the AM when I turned the lights on, I proceeeded to feed fish in the other tanks and when I got to mine I noticed one of my bigger BGJD's swimming around like it couldn't see, swimming into decor, it's coloring was kinda blotchy. It was darker in some spots than others. Also it had what looks like a bite mark on it's site, last night it looked like it was gonna start growing something on it, but today it almost seems like that's almost gone. The spot looks like it's a blister kind of, but it is about the size of the other bigger ones mouth. Also though, my fish are weird when eating and sometimes get food lodged in their mouths and will bang their mouths on things to break it loose. This particular fish was banging around some the previous night, so I'm not sure if it might have injured itself on the decor or in a middle of the night fight with the other bigger 1 in the tank. The BGJDs are between 2.5"s and 3"s roughly. I've done nothing but isolate this fish to watch it's behavior. It doesn't take food, as I'm not sure if it even can see me or the food. I can't get a good pic of the fish to show the spot on it. Not sure what to do with it or how to treat it, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I LOVE these fish and wanna try and make it well if I can. Thanks in advance to any that can help.
