In the water
I have been researching fish for my 55 gallon that will not out grow it. I am thinking of,
Datnoid (I know they will get to big eventually)
Borchir
Peacock eel
Discus
Gold severum
JD
EBJD
I am not going to put all of those in my tank maybe 3 or 4. My tank is planted. I have 2 pieces of driftwood in there for cover. I have two 70 gallon filters on it and I do regular water changes and add aquarium salt. I can’t decide what fish to get. I need some help choosing. It there any other fish that could get that will go with some of these fish that I have not thought of. I can not get a bigger tank so the fish have to not out grow my 55. Thank you.

Dat MIGHT work on it's own (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Otherwise a group of 4 discus would be nice, or maybe 3 Senegal Bichirs. And imma be honest, ditch the salt, it won't do anything unless somethings sick, and if added before things get sick, it'll make ilness worse.

The JD will get to aggressive for them. You will also be overstocked.

Wouldn't just one JD be suitable for a 55G?

Not with the fish you are keeping. Plus you will be overstocked. A JD needs a 55 gallon alone.

What fish is he keeping? From the first post, I thought the tank is presently empty.

A JD and a senegal might work but that could be pushing it on water quality. Discus are far too fragile to put in with JD and would surely be killed. How about a small group of beautiful discus, and a shoal of rummynose tetras? In your planted tank with driftwood it would be absolutely stunning.
