ok so im restarting my 150 tank got rid of everything except a green terror... and i ordered some fish of jeff rapps i ordered a amphilophus citrinellus and amphilphus xiloaensis and unfortunately ups failed to deliver my fish today.. so my question is how long can fish last in a bag?? i dont want to end up with dead fish tomoro when they arrive...

did you have them shipped overnight or second day? are you in northern cali or southern? what's the temp been like? Jeff is a very expert packer so I'm sure the fish would be fine for 2 or maybe even 3 days. Last order I placed from him I got second day and all fish were in perfect health except for one....the synspilum was a little ragged from the trip but he pulled through and is doing great. So really it all depends on how many days it's been and what the weather has been like in your area.

You could always try calling ups and explaining the situation and see if you can go pick them up. I've shown up at the USPS before at midnight on the shipping dock, explained the situation and was able to go ahead and pick up the shipment. I've always found shippers to be a little more willing to go out of their way when livestock is involved.

you shouldnt have anything to worry about bud:) Jeff Rapps is an excellent packer. I live in alaska and had an placed an order in february and it was delayed a day due to volcanic activity and got my fish the day after and all was well. its always stressfull when waiting on a package but keep your head up. what was the reason for the delay?

i trackd it and it gives no reason just didnt arrive??? thanks for the help feel mor comfotable now...

Call UPS and ask why it didn't show up. Verify that the address they show as being on the package is correct. At the very least, they should refund Jeff the money you spent on overnight shipping because they didn't fulfill their end of the deal. It's not your fault they didn't deliver next day, but that's the service you paid for.
