i need info on kribenis

i just need some basic info on kribs and on breeding them :)
 
any other mean stuff for a 15gal ?

maybe a jewel or juliecromis
 
I would just get a group of 8 for the 15 gal. you can try a jewel, But, i wouldn't if your trying to breed fish. IMO.

yes. let them pair off naturally and keep the best looking pair as no doubt you will have more than one pair forming so make sure you can rehome the other fish quickly or the strongest pair will go to war if they start breeding.

I had a single kribensis male who beat up the girlfriend I put him in with. She was not strong enough, so I went to the LFS and bought the reddest, fattest, strongest most aggressive female I could find and hoped for the best. Within 3 days they were in love! Since then (about 5 months ago) they have spawned twice and now I have over 50 fry which are about 8 weeks old now and ready to go the LFs in a couple of weeks. It is not hard to get them to breed so long as you manage to pair them up. Some people like to buy a few fish so that they pair up on their own - I won on my second attempt but maybe I got lucky. Another thing you can do is look for a male and female in the LFS that look like they are already paired up. Signs to look for are the female showing a rounded red belly and bending and showing off to the male. If he likes her he will bend and show off to her back. I keep my temperature at around 27C and I have relatively soft water.
