I suggest searching the Catfish forum under "colombian shark". This fish should not be in the trade as it is sold to almost certainly be tortured and die as people don't know and, sadly, mostly refuse to know how to keep it.

Not directed at the OP but I've politely offered cautions at LFSs to people about to buy it and all I got was blank stares or the "whatever" attitude... because the LFS workers had just explained to them it would do just fine cleaning up their f/w tank bottoms.

Disposable garbage disposer.

Cross catfish? That fish is commonly called Columbian Shark Catfish. They grow upto about 12-14 inches and are very peaceful. I used to have some adults in a brackish set up.

They must be kept in high brackish as adults or even full strength seawater. They can be kept happily with other brackish species like Scats, Mono`s, Goby species (jades and sleepers) the brackish Datnioides etc

Or as part of a marine set up, they will acclimate perfectly. I had mine in a 120 and I wouldn`t recommend anything much smaller than that, they are very active fish. They eat anything and I had one that starved itself a lng time after I got it.

  • Datnioides campbelli
  • Datnioides polota / quadrifasciatus

They can be maintained at .0010 SG. So yeah you could comfortably keep those species together.
